Search operations continue in eastern Georgia after a Turkish Armed Forces C-130 cargo plane crashed in the Kakheti region. Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze said the bodies of 18 of the 20 soldiers onboard have been recovered, while efforts to locate the remaining two continue.
Geladze noted that Georgia and Türkiye are coordinating closely through a joint international search and rescue team. “Many parts of the aircraft are scattered over a wide area,” he said, emphasizing the scale of the operation. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
