A gendarmerie pilot battling a forest fire in Bursa’s Nilüfer district drew praise after flying a Skorsky helicopter under power lines while collecting water from Kayapa Reservoir.
The fire broke out around 6:00 PM near the Kayapa, Güngören, and Maksempınar neighborhoods. As the pilot lifted off after filling the water bucket, he swiftly noticed power lines ahead and expertly maneuvered beneath them at high speed, continuing firefighting operations.
The daring flight startled onlookers but was widely praised for demonstrating the skill and courage of Turkish forces. Footage of the moment went viral on social media.
