Türkiye has rapidly advanced its production of UAVs and armed drones, becoming the world’s largest supplier, surpassing China. Successful operations with Turkish drones, such as the Bayraktar TB2 and ANKA, in conflicts like Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Ukraine have boosted Türkiye’s global reputation.
A U.S.-based report highlights that in 2022, six countries purchased armed drones exclusively from Türkiye. The country now accounts for 65% of global military drone sales, with China at 26% and the U.S. at 8%. The rise in demand for armed drones, including kamikaze drones, is driving Türkiye’s dominance in this market.
