August 30 Victory Day, which marks the Turks’ victory in the last battle in the war against Greece in 1922, was celebrated with an official ceremony in Zonguldak, the first province of the Turkish Republic. The ceremony started after the reading of the National Anthem and continued with poems explaining the importance of the day and local folk dances. Afterwards, veterans, police, gendarmerie, athletes and official vehicles paraded.
