Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) launched a successful operation in Qamishli, Syria, targeting the PKK/YPG’s attempts to smuggle heavy weapons and ammunition seized from the Assad regime.
MIT destroyed 12 trucks carrying missiles and heavy weapons, two tanks, and two ammunition depots. The terrorist group had obtained the equipment through deals with the Assad regime and planned to use it against Turkish forces.
In response to the operation, the PKK/YPG spread false claims that Qamishli Airport was attacked by Israel to counter fear within its ranks. MIT affirmed its commitment to eliminating threats from the organization and ensuring national security.
