Türkiye started to evacuate its citizens who were stuck in Sudan due to clashes between the national army and Rapid Support Forces that started on April 15. The first evacuation group consisting of 167 people was brought to Türkiye by private plane.
Akgün, who was among the evacuees, said, “Conditions were harsh. All countries want to remove their people. Clashes continue on street. Our Sudanese brothers are good people. Sudan is a beautiful country. Hopefully it will get better and we’ll be back.”
