A Turkiye Festival that presents Turkiye’s cultural values was organized at the Ueno Park in Japan’s capital Tokyo with contributions of  the Yunus Emre Institute from Turkiye. The festival attracted great attention with dance shows and local food stands that are indigenous to Turkiye, giving Japanese citizens an opportunity to get to know Turkish culture.

Ikuyo Funahara, one of the dancers who took the stage within the scope of the festival, stated that they prepared a show consisting of traditional Turkish dances and said, “We are extremely happy that Turkey’s folk dances have attracted great interest from the Japanese.”

Stating that she came to the festival because she was curious about Turkish food and desserts, a visitor named Aki Yukada said, “This is my first introduction to any Turkish food at all. I’ve seen a lot of Turkish ice cream on social media… So, I really wanted to try it… it is a perfect opportunity,”
