The Turkish Armed Forces’ Land Forces Air Defense Command is playing a key role in Türkiye’s air defense with its domestically developed Steel Dome systems, including Hisar-A, Hisar-O, and Korkut.
Based in Konya, the command uses multi-layered air defense capabilities to protect military units and civilian areas against threats such as drones, missiles, and aircraft. Hisar-O can detect targets at 60 kilometers and engage them at 40 kilometers, while Korkut provides low-altitude defense with a firing rate of 1,100 rounds per minute.
Personnel operating these systems are trained at a modern joint air defense training and simulation center, preparing them for real combat scenarios.
