Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün announced that three ALTAY tanks will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces this year, with full-scale production starting in 2025. The first batch of 85 T1 configuration tanks will be delivered gradually, followed by 165 T2 tanks by 2028.
During his visit to BMC POWER’s Ankara facility, Görgün highlighted efforts to eliminate foreign dependence in engine production. The facility will produce domestic engines for the ALTAY tank, FIRTINA howitzer, and next-generation armored vehicles. BMC also unveiled a state-of-the-art test center for armored vehicles.
