President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended NATO’s 75th Anniversary Commemoration in Washington, D.C., where he, along with his wife Emine Erdoğan, posed for a group photo with other heads of state and government. The event at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium featured videos showcasing significant historical events, including World War II, the founding of NATO, the Bosnian War, the annexation of Crimea, and the Russia-Ukraine War.
In addition to the commemoration, President Erdoğan met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. They discussed bilateral relations, Turkey’s EU accession process, and regional and global issues. Erdoğan emphasized Turkey’s ongoing peaceful efforts to end the Ukraine-Russia war and Israel’s attacks on Gaza, urging the international community to intensify efforts for peace. He also sought Hungary’s support in revitalizing Turkey’s EU accession process during its upcoming EU presidency
