Barbaros Demirbaş, the Test Pilot for Türkiye’s National Combat Aircraft KAAN, shared insights on World Pilots’ Day, highlighting KAAN’s role in pushing the boundaries of aviation. Demirbaş, speaking after KAAN’s successful first flight, emphasized the meticulous preparations and high confidence in the aircraft. He stated, “We had very high confidence in our aircraft. The responsibility on us was great, both me and my teammates. We were very well prepared.” Demirbaş described the emotional landing experience, saying, “It was a very emotional, beautiful moment. Everyone has made a great effort, it is the property of our nation.” He expressed satisfaction with KAAN’s performance post-flight, noting, “I think we were very successful.” Demirbaş concluded by underlining the importance of protecting national airspace and Türkiye’s ongoing advancements in aviation technology, stating, “We have to protect our skies for our future.”
