Nature enthusiasts and mountain climbers participating in the 13th annual Huğlu Dikenli Tepe Snow Walk event in Konya’s Beyşehir district in Türkiye, were met with disappointment as they found no snow during their trek.
The event, traditionally organized by the Beyşehir Treeking and Nature Walks Community, turned into a snow festival in previous years, drawing attention from both nature lovers and mountaineers. However, this year, despite reaching the summit, participants couldn’t experience the anticipated snowy landscape due to a severe drought in the region. Mustafa Büyükkafalı, President of Beyşehir Culture, Nature, and Tourism Association, expressed the unusual situation of completing the event without the customary snow cover or snowy walk, attributing it to the significant lack of snow in the mountainous areas.
