Typhoon Danas battered Taiwan’s southern and central regions, leaving 2 dead and over 500 injured. Around 400,000 households remain without power, with wind speeds in Chiayi reaching over 200 km/h. Temples and buildings sustained heavy damage, and 3,500 residents in Kaohsiung were evacuated.
The storm also disrupted regional travel, canceling 33 international flights. Danas affected parts of the Philippines and China, prompting evacuations and port closures in Guangdong and halting ferries and construction in Zhejiang.
