Earlier, Doksuri struck Fujian province, causing over $2 billion in economic losses and affecting 2.7 million residents. As Doksuri’s impact lessens, Typhoon Khanun is anticipated to reach China’s east coast tomorrow.
An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, triggering a tsunami warning across the Pacific coast. Officials reported over 50 aftershocks and minor building damage. No casualties were recorded. Tsunami waves reached up to 4 meters, flooding parts of Severo-Kurilsk port. Authorities evacuated 2,700 residents, and emergency measures remain in place.
