Northern China is reeling from the devastating impact of Typhoon Doxuri, with two bodies found in a river in Beijing’s Mentougou region and heavy rainfall hitting Tianjin, Hebei, and Beijing. Amid the ongoing rainfall, red alerts have been issued in Beijing and Hebei province. Thousands of residents were evacuated in Beijing, with 350 roads flooded. In Hebei province, over 20,000 individuals were evacuated, with one person reported missing after a bridge collapse. Earlier this year, the province of Fujian suffered direct economic losses of over $400 million due to typhoon-induced flooding and landslides. The situation could worsen with the impending arrival of Typhoon Khanun.
