Typhoon Shanshan, which caused severe storms and floods, has brought life to a standstill in Japan as of the evening hours. Three people were injured in Miyazaki Prefecture and one in Kagoshima Prefecture due to accidents caused by strong winds. An evacuation warning was issued to approximately 870,000 people.
The Japan Meteorological Agency announced that the typhoon’s impact will increase tonight and that heavy rain and storms are expected in large parts of Kyushu Island, especially in Kagoshima, Miyazaki, Kumamoto and Oita prefectures.
