Ukraine and Syria Restore Diplomatic Relations

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Syrian President Ahmed al-Shahara in New York, USA, during the UN General Assembly. The two leaders signed a Joint Declaration restoring diplomatic ties, which were cut in 2022 after Syria recognized Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine.
