The Ukrainian parliament approved President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal to appoint Yulia Svyrydenko as the new prime minister.
Svyrydenko, 39, secured 262 votes in the 450-seat chamber, becoming Ukraine’s 19th prime minister and the second woman in the country’s history to hold the post.
She has served as Economy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister since 2021 and previously negotiated a minerals agreement with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
