Ukraine’s Irpin displayed in aftermath of russian invasion

Cities in Ukraine that were liberated from the Russian army bear the scars of war. The city of Irpin, 20 kilometers from Kyiv and surrounded by forested areas, was shown in its final state. The city of Irpin, with its ruined buildings, bridges, roads, burning vehicles, and corpses waiting to be removed in the middle of the street, astounded those who saw it. Irpin, which had become a ghost town, had only a few dogs roaming the streets.

Citizens who wanted to return to Irpin, where the Russian army had been driven out, were given various warnings. Vadim Denisenko, Advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, emphasised that the city is full of traps, saying, “There are too many mines. Even the corpses on the streets are mined. Therefore, we ask those who want to return to their homes, please do not hurry. We will officially inform you when it is possible to return to the city.”
