UN Reports 18 Dead, 361 Injured in Pakistan-Afghanistan Clashes

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced that 18 civilians were killed and 361 injured in cross-border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan since October 10. Most casualties occurred in Kandahar’s Spin Boldak district, where 17 people died and 346 were wounded.

UNAMA urged both sides to halt hostilities and protect civilians in line with international law. A 48-hour ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan was declared yesterday.
