Trade negotiations between the United States and China entered their second day in Stockholm, Sweden, as both sides seek to resolve a long-standing tariff dispute. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng are leading the talks.
A permanent tariff agreement is expected by August 12. The current 90-day pause on tariffs over 100% is set to expire soon, raising fears of a return to harsh trade measures that could impact global supply chains. The US currently imposes a 30% tariff on Chinese goods, while China levies 10% on US imports.
Previous rounds of talks were held in Geneva and London in May and June.
