The United States military announced that at least five ‘narco-terrorists’ were killed during targeted strikes on two drug-smuggling boats in the Eastern Pacific. Operating under the US Southern Command’s (SOUTHCOM) Operation Southern Spear, a joint task force intercepted the vessels, which were linked to designated terrorist organizations, along known maritime trafficking routes. Two suspects died and one survived in the first strike, while a second attack resulted in three additional fatalities. SOUTHCOM confirmed that no American personnel were harmed during the operation and has launched a search and rescue mission for the lone survivor in the Eastern Pacific waters.
