US paragliding couple visits Turkey, enjoys nature and beauty

Turkey was the 44th stop of the American Captain Manicorn couple, who traveled from country to country to paraglide to enter the Guinness Book of Records. The couple, who toured several regions in Turkey, came to Sivrice district of Elazig to paraglide. Expressing that they couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Turkey, where the cultural and natural beauties are not featured in the American media, Manicorn said, “Turkey is by far the best place where I can do this activity. It is very nice to jump off the mountain and go down to the edge of the lake. I can say that such beauties of Turkey are not mentioned in the media in America. However, when I came here and saw it with my own eyes, we realized that there is beauty and culture.” His wife, who stated that they were very impressed by the Turkish hospitality, said, “We are generally more interested in nature than cities and we try to visit nature. It is a great gift and happiness for us to be intertwined with such a beautiful nature. What my wife did not mention and what I would like to mention is that people in Turkey are very friendly and hospitable. People do not hesitate to eat in any way and they eat more than enough,” he said. The couple’s next destination will be Cyprus.

Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Istanbul’s Çamlıca Tower has hosted approximately 2.3 million visitors since its inauguration by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 29, 2021.

Standing at 587 meters above sea level, the tulip-shaped tower is the tallest structure in Istanbul and combines architecture, technology, and visitor experience. It includes 49 floors with observation decks, restaurants, and interactive exhibits showcasing Istanbul’s landmarks.

Uraloğlu emphasized the tower’s role in broadcasting, currently supporting 100 FM channels, 16 analog TV, and 15 DAB+ stations, along with services for GSM and public institutions. He noted that Çamlıca Tower has significantly reduced electromagnetic emissions in the area, lowering levels from 39 to 2.5 Volts/meter—well below EU safety standards.
