US Secretary of State Antony Blinken flew to Israel, as his last stop in his visits to the countries that are mediators between Israel and Hamas, to make progress in the talks to establish a ceasefire in Palestine. After being greeted by the authorities at the airport, the US minister met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and held a meeting regarding the ceasefire agreement, which included the release of captives in Gaza.
The US minister said after the press conference he held with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry yesterday that “the differences” were “decreasing” between the parts and that he believed that the agreement was possible.
