US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that a crude oil tanker moving sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran was seized off the Venezuelan coast with support from the US Coast Guard and Department of Defense. The vessel had long been under US sanctions for aiding an illegal network linked to foreign terrorist organizations.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the US will pursue violators “on land or at sea,” while FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the tanker was part of a sanctioned shipping network. An investigation is ongoing.
