US teacher Marc Fogel, sentenced to 14 years in Russia for marijuana possession, has been released after serving 3.5 years. He returned to the US, where he was welcomed by officials and President Donald Trump at the White House.
Trump thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for Fogel’s release and hinted at another upcoming prisoner release. He described the exchange as minimal and expressed hope for improved US-Russia relations, including efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
