The people’s congress was held in the United States for the first time in 50 years on “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP). According to Andre Carson, a member of the United States House of Representatives, “UAPs are a potential national security threat and they need to be treated that way.” Carson stated that the issue had been put on hold for a long time and that the necessary studies had not been conducted, adding, “Today we know better. UAPs are not explained, it is true, but they are real. They need to be investigated, and the threats they pose must be mitigated.”
At the meeting attended by Ronald Moultrie, the US Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, and Scott Bray, Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, it was announced that nearly 400 unidentified aerial phenomena were reported by pilots and service officials. The government’s report last year stated that since 2004, there have been more than 140 UAP reports.
