The Iraqi government announced the death toll from the US’s retaliatory attack carried out against Iran-backed Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi forces in Iraq in response to the killing of three US soldiers in Jordan. Iraqi officials announced that civilian settlements as well as security forces in Anbar’s Akashat and al-Qaim towns were hit, and 16 people, including civilians, were killed and 25 people were injured.

“US attacks are fueling the conflict in the Middle East in a very dangerous way,” the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The USA announced that it hit more than 85 targets with many warplanes, using more than 125 precision-guided munitions.
