The interest in Van cats, which are registered as a national breed in Türkiye and whose fame has spread beyond borders to the world, is increasing day by day. Van cats, known for their friendliness, white and fluffy fur, and different eye colors, were visited by approximately 250 thousand people this year at the Van Cat Villa.
“The number of our visitors significantly decreased after the pandemic. However, we had an above-average number of visitors this summer,” said Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya.
A tourist named Irina Kovalenko, who participated in the trip to see Van cats, expressed her gratitude for the fact that the animals in the Van Cat Villa are valued in this way. Another tourist named Elena Logunova stated that she had an emotional bond with the cats.
