Virgin Galactic, a premier space tourism company, recently took tourists into space for the first time since its debut commercial flight in June. The VSS Unity spacecraft launched from New Mexico and provided passengers with a five-minute weightless experience. Among those aboard were the first mother-daughter duo, Anastatia Mayers and Keisha Schahaff, and 80-year-old former Olympian Jon Goodwin. This follows Virgin Galactic’s inaugural paid flight last month and Richard Branson’s historic journey in July 2021, making him the first billionaire in space. With the rising interest in space travel, 800 individuals have secured tickets, which now cost 450,000 dollars each due to recent price hikes.

Palestinians celebrated the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas after indirect talks in Egypt, marking the first step of a broader peace plan involving hostage exchanges and Israeli troop withdrawals. Crowds, including children displaced by Israeli attacks, gathered around Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital to celebrate the end of the fighting. Residents in Maghazi Refugee Camp expressed hopes for rebuilding Gaza and establishing a Palestinian state. “Thank God, the war is over. Our homes were destroyed, and our children killed. We thank everyone who helped end this war,” said Yasser Abu Hein. Others shared optimism that Gaza would “return better than before.”
Israel confirmed that the ceasefire would begin following a cabinet vote later in the day.
