volcanic eruptions become violent on la palma island

Cumbre Vieja Volcano on Spanish Island of La Palma has been spewing ash and lava since September 19. The volcanic activity is not expected to end anytime soon as the eruptions have become violent recently on the island. The lava flowing from the volcano causes fires in residential areas, where 754 hectares of land, and 1,835 households have been destroyed. About 7,000 people have been evacuated from the island thus far.
