Heavy snowfall in Tunceli, Türkiye, has disrupted both human life and wildlife. In Pülümür, where snow depths reached up to half a meter in higher areas, a herd of wild boars was spotted struggling through the snow.
Captured by drone footage, the animals moved in a single file to navigate the snowy terrain. The early and intense snowfall has posed significant challenges for wildlife in the region.
A devastating forest fire in Türkiye’s Bursa province reduced 100 hectares to ash, but one garden in Gürsu’s Karahıdır village remained untouched. Despite the destruction, Halil Kiraz’s 25-acre nectar orchard stood green and intact. Kiraz credited his drip irrigation system, firebreak road, regular maintenance, and almsgiving: “Everything turned to ash, but my garden remained green.”
The fire began on July 26, 2025, prompting the evacuation of 1,765 people. Now extinguished, the contrast of Kiraz’s green orchard amid scorched land has drawn widespread attention.
