Forest fires broke out in many parts of the country, especially in the Nuble and Biobio regions of Chile. More than 750 hectares of forest were turned to ash. Chilean Interior Minister Carolina Toha declared a red alert due to forest fires in the Nuble and Biobio regions.

Seven natural parks in the capital Santiago and some parts of Chile were temporarily closed by the order of the ministry due to the fire hazard. In Nuble, people were called to evacuate some rural areas.
