The CSTO peacekeeping contingent’s withdrawal from Kazakhstan began on January 13 and has completed with the departure of russian forces. The last peacekeeping forces led by CSTO Peacekeeping Force Commander Andrey Serdyukov left the country with four military transport planes taking off from Nur Sultan and Almaty, according to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense. In a statement, Serdyukov said, “The tasks were completed by peacekeeping forces from five countries. At the same time, the troops demonstrated that they were prepared to work together, be professional, and be organized. Not a single provocation was allowed against the peacekeepers.”
