Asena Uykur, a firefighter in Ankara, Türkiye, was inspired to join the profession after being rescued from a house fire at age eight. The experience left a lasting impression, leading her to pursue firefighting in high school and university.
Determined to prove that women can excel in any field, Uykur now bravely battles fires and saves lives. She recalled an emotional moment when she reunited with the firefighter who once saved her during her internship. Now, as a professional, she is fulfilling her childhood promise to protect others.
