Workers in Greece protested the government’s economic policy in the capital, Athens, led by the All Workers Militant Front (PAME). The workers demanded that measures to significantly support the income of the employees be taken as soon as possible and that collective agreements be signed. In his speech, Markos Bekris, President of the Transport Workers Union (ENEDEP), told that a colleague died in front of his eyes as a result of an accident at Cosco Pier after working for more than 12 hours. Bekris said that after the strikes, the company reduced its working hours and pledged not to force it to work double shifts.
The unions announced that they will continue their protests in the coming days and that they are planning a major strike on 11 November.
