Lake Ilıgöl, the world’s second largest crater lake, is now covered in ice due to the cold weather. The lake is located on the summit of Nemrut Caldera in the Tatvan district of Bitlis, Türkiye, with an altitude of 2,948 meters, where the water temperature reaches 40 degrees even in winter. The caldera now has a snow depth of 20 centimeters. The lake has an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometers and is used in the treatment of many diseases because of its high mineral content and sulfurous structure.
The scenery at the caldera astounded visitors, who snapped photos.
