WWII Mass Grave Unearthed in Wroclaw, Poland: 128 Bodies Discovered

The Pomost Historical and Archaeological Research Workshop conducted excavations in the garden of a villa on Wroclaw Dickstein street, where experts unearthed the remains of 120 civilians, including children and the elderly, who tragically lost their lives during the Red Army’s siege of Breslau in 1945. Additionally, eight bodies were identified as soldiers from the Volkssturm, a people’s liberation army formed towards the end of WWII.

The skeletal remains will be respectfully laid to rest in the German War Cemetery in Nadolice Wielkie during a ceremony scheduled for September, following their transfer from the Poznan Cemetery warehouse.
