Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, as the first stop of his Southeast Asia tour. Welcomed by Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi is expected to sign around 40 bilateral agreements. In a published article, Xi called for stronger cooperation with Vietnam in trade, AI, and green economy, amid rising US tariffs. Vietnam, a key manufacturing hub, relies on China for imports while exporting largely to the US. Xi’s tour will continue to Malaysia and Cambodia, marking his return to both countries after more than a decade.
