Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during an official visit to the Czech Republic, said a ceasefire with Russia “could start even today” if Moscow were serious. He stressed the need for at least a 30-day ceasefire to allow diplomacy and warned that Russia would not act without increased international pressure.

Czech President Petr Pavel supported Zelensky’s call, saying, “If anyone holds the cards to end the war, it’s Putin.” He confirmed that 1.8 million artillery shells will be delivered to Ukraine by 2025 under the Czech Initiative.

Zelensky also rejected Russia’s recent three-day ceasefire for Victory Day, calling it symbolic and inadequate.
