A boat carrying students and teachers during a picnic trip capsized on Lake Harni in Vadodara city, Gujarat, India. A total of 14 people, including 12 children, aged between 7 and 13, and 2 teachers, were reported dead. Police stated that 20 children were rescued, 2 were still missing, and some were taken to intensive care. Search efforts continue on the lake.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that compensation will be paid to the relatives of the victims and the injured.
