125 Firefighters Battle Massive Wildfire in England

A rapidly spreading bushfire in Suffolk, England, has scorched roughly 150 hectares in just 24 hours, forcing the evacuation of about 150 residents and cutting power to over 100 homes. Emergency crews are struggling against difficult terrain and restricted access, with 125 personnel and 18 fire engines deployed to contain the blaze. Suffolk Fire Chief Jon Lacey described the deployment as “quite unusual,” noting he had never previously managed an incident with so many firefighters on the ground. Authorities confirmed there is no threat to the nearby Sizewell B Nuclear Power Plant, located about six kilometers from the fire zone. No casualties or injuries have been reported as containment operations remain ongoing.
