Numerous people continue to stage protests against the far-right party AfD’s plan to deport all foreigners in the country. A rally was held today in the area between the Prime Ministry Building and the Federal Parliament Building in the capital Berlin, attended by 150 thousand people, mostly Germans. The demonstrators held banners such as “The Nazis will never have power anymore” and “We are the security wall.”
“Right-wing and far-right views are gaining more support. Racism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of group-based misanthropy are on the rise. People are humiliated and socially excluded due to poverty, unemployment or homelessness. Refugees are being massively disenfranchised. Yes, our democracy is in danger,” said one protester.
