A 22-years-old woman, Mahsa Amini, died after getting detained and battered for not wearing her headscarf properly in Tehran, Iran. Amini was leaving from a metro station in Tehran on September 13th when she was detained by morality police. She was being accused of not abiding by the street dress code. After detained by the officers, she was taken to a hospital in Tehran because of the battery she was exposed to. Having been in a coma for 3 days, she was declared dead today.
A group of Tehran citizens protested the regime by shouting slogans such as “Death to the dictator”.
Tehran Police Station defended that Mahsa Amini fainted during the detention without being subjected to a psychical contact. On the other hand, Iran’s Ministry of Inferior stated that they will start an investigation into Amini’s death.
