40,000 police deployed to protests in France

Violent protests continue in France, which started on Tuesday after a 17-year-old boy named Nael M., who did not obey the traffic police’s warning to stop, was shot dead by the police. On the second day of the protests, 180 people were detained. Demonstrators set fire to vehicles and public buildings yesterday. Police intervened with tear gas to disperse the crowd at the chaotic protests.

After the government took the counter-government decision to increase security, the number of police deployed in protests across France reached 40,000.

The police officer who shot Ganja was detained and suspended from duty.
