In exchange for 10 Israeli, 4 Thai, and 2 Russian prisoners held captive in the Gaza Strip, 30 Palestinians, including Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi, were released.
Activist Ahed Tamimi was sentenced to 8 months in prison for slapping and kicking an Israeli soldier after her 15-year-old cousin was shot in the head with a rubber bullet during a protest in 2017 and became a symbol of Palestinian resistance.
