7-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz Minister of Emergency Situations, Boobek Acikeev, reported a 7-magnitude earthquake in Chinese territory near Kyrgyzstan’s border with China. Minister Acikeev reassured that, as of now, no casualties or damages have been reported in affected areas.

The seismic activity extended beyond Kyrgyzstan, causing people to take to the streets, resulting in queues at gas stations. The earthquake’s impact was felt in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Daulet Sarsenbayev, Head of Kazakhstan’s National Seismological Observation and Research Scientific Center, confirmed its effect in the Almaty region and Almaty city.
