As Istanbul grapples with high temperatures, the city’s dams are feeling the strain with their occupancy rate falling to 37.21 percent. Büyükçekmece Dam Lake, in particular, has seen a significant decrease in water level, dropping from 74.37 percent occupancy last year to 18.02 percent. Drone footage indicates a considerable amount of water has been drawn from the dam, leading to fears of a water crisis in the face of ongoing heat.

A full moon rising over Lake Van in the Ahlat district of Türkiye’s Bitlis province created a breathtaking spectacle as it reflected off the calm waters. Locals and visitors gathered along the lakeshore to witness and photograph the scene, with many describing it as an unforgettable moment.
Nature photographer Şahin Şerefoğlu, who captured the moonrise at Ahlat Pier, said, “We’re in one of the most beautiful places to watch the full moon. We invite all nature lovers to experience this view.”
Travelers from other regions, including Şanlıurfa, also came to enjoy the view, turning the lakeside into a popular spot for moon gazing and photography.
