A fire erupted at Pattaya’s floating market in Thailand, forcing firefighters to tackle the blaze from outside the water-based market, connected by wooden walkways. Twenty fire trucks were dispatched, and the fire was brought under control in about an hour. One person affected by smoke was hospitalized. Witnesses reported the fire starting in the central area, quickly spreading due to strong winds.
Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngamphichet confirmed no casualties but estimated around 50 million Baht (approximately 38 million liras) in material damages. The market was temporarily closed, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
