An armed assailant broke into Hamburg Airport in Germany with his car, with his 4-year-old daughter inside, and parked under a scheduled plane at around 20:00 yesterday. The attacker, who shot a couple of times into the air, tried to start a fire by throwing around Molotov cocktails, which were put off afterwards, and took his child hostage.
It was reported that the attacker’s wife had previously reported the abduction of her child to the state police.
The airport was closed to flight traffic, affecting approximately 3,200 passengers.
